2011 Owego Flood Relief
This is a relatively local mission resulting from the flooding of the Susquahanna River on September 7, 2011. The flooding was caused by the heavy rains of a stalled weather system during Tropical Storm Lee.
Owego is a small town in the Southern Tier of New York located about 120 miles southeast of Rochester.
It is estimated that 75% of the1600 homes in the area suffered flood damage. In the city, the average high water mark was three feet into the first floor. This mission will close down for the winter and resume in the spring of 2012.
