Our Story

One Generation Calls to the Next!

Our story is a rich one with a long history. Dating back to 1877, we have constantly been reminded of God's grace and unfailing care for his people. With the psalmist we declare:


One generation shall extol your works to another and shall declare your mighty acts.They will recount the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works I will meditate.They will proclaim the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness.They shall celebrate the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.

Where it began...

In 2025, former Council President Coenraad Bakker undertook the task of translating the original council minutes from 1877 recording the establishment of RCRC, or as it was called then, "der Ware Hollandsche Gereformeerde Kerk," or The True Dutch Reformed Church.

These minutes were handwritten in Dutch, so the task was a significant one, and we thank Coenraad for giving us this more accessible version of that significant time in the life of RCRC.

Council Minutes-September 1877

1877-1952

To celebrate the church's 75th anniversary, a written history was authored in 1952. In it's acknowledgement of this work, the consistory stated, "The Consistory desires to express its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Church Historian - Conrad J. Bult; the special Committee appointed for the publication of this booklet- Rev. A. E. Rozendal, C. J. Bult, D. J. DeBliek, J. W. Kuipers, J. R. Orlebeke, H. J. Schouten; to all those who contributed material and pictures or otherwise assisted in the publication of this booklet."
